The 'Head of the knight' ring is a combination of a cast bronze block that was used to make the ceremonial helmet of the Guard, with a face carved in silver and attached to the necklace. The attire of the palace guard is based on the 16th-century Greenwich armor and the late 15th-century cuirassier cavalry, and the front visor is designed to move up and down and lock in place with a catch when fully raised.
